1. A good insulated container is needed such as a thick poly styrene box.

2. Use Dry Ice for shipping FROZEN goods as Dry Ice will freeze everything in the shipping box.

3. Use “gel packs” or “blue ice” for goods to be REFRIGERATED.

4. A combination of dry ice and gel packs will extend the shipping time.

5. Plan on using 5 to 10 pounds of dry ice in a container up to 15 quarts for each 24-hour period.

6. When packing items in the container put dry ice, any gel packs, and the product as close together as possible.

7. Place the dry ice on top and fill any empty space with wadded newspaper or Styrofoam peanuts. “Dead-air-space” will cause the Dry Ice to sublimate faster.

8. Dry Ice sublimation will vary depending on the amount of dry ice used, outside temperature, air pressure and efficiency of the insulation.

9. Dry Ice temperatures range from -109.3°F tor -78.5°C and will freeze and keep frozen everything in the container until it is completely sublimated.
