To make installing Wordpress Plug-ins easy, try installing the “One Click Updater” Plugin by Janis Elsts.

I’ve used it for installing both plug-ins and themes on several wordpress sites and it has worked great and saved my tons of time downloading, unzipping, and uploading plugins to websites. Just a couple of clicks, and this plugin will actually install directly from a web address.

Loving it.

Here is a quick summary of some of it’s features:

You can upgrade all plugins with a single click (only in WP 2.5 and up).

It’s easy to identify any plugins that have update notifications enabled. There is a yellow or goldish mark in the Plugin Management tab.

It is easy to quickly determine if there are any necessary updates..

It simple to install new plugins and themes.

Deleting a plugins or theme only takes a couple of clicks from the Plugins/Themes tabs.

Debug mode is available if something doesn’t work. It will display a detailed log whenever it tries to update or install a plugin.

You can download the plugin from wordpress.org, or from the author’s homepage.
